arth Eternal is indeed going to be using the Ogre 3d engine. We completed our tech evaluation of it yesterday and came to the conclusion that it is cheaper in the long term (if more expensive in the short term), and considerably more flexible than the solution we were using (which is going to remain nameless, as I don’t want to slight it). It also gives us the benefit of owning our technology (Ogre is under the LGPL (Lesser GPL) license). The high quality of the Ogre user community was a major factor in our decision, so props to them.

While graphics is almost a foreign concept to me (to build) as I am a programming student in college, because of that fact. I do want to wish your team the best of luck with this 3d engine.
Those are some very impressive images coming out of their galleries, and I am sure your team will also create a very appealing world for its players.
Again, congratulations on finding an engine that will suit your projects needs. I know that Brad McQuaid and Sigil Games Online went with Unreal 2.5 engine for their Vanguard: Saga of Heroes game, as the team wanted to build the game, not design MMO engines. But it seems that quite a bit of development time was with them porting a FPS engine to a MMO engine.

Reading this reminds me of our campus game club, when we were debating just using the built in max stuff or using Ogre heh. Go Ogre!
